Liska Chan Discusses Her Work
As part of the 2008 Architecture and Allied Arts Faculty Lecture Series, University of Oregon Landscape Architecture Professor Liska Chan discussed her Amazon Creek project. According to Chan the project incorporates subjective responses and new methods-walking/photographing/mapping - to reveal a "dynamic element in the landscape" in a way that "shows its many invisible properties." The talk, titled Traverse, is part of an ongoing project on Amazon creek that seeks to uncover the ways in which the creek is related to the surrounding landscape and its inhabitants. Hi Andy. My name's Chas Bowie; I'm a photography writer in Portland, and I just saw your work at Newspace. Sadly, I don't have money, exhibition opportunities, or any other goodies to throw your way—only admiration and a desire to talk and learn more about your work. I looked around Local Image, and want to see more, please. I couldn't find an email for you, so at the risk of entering stalker territory, I'm hoping to receive this comment. (Sorry this comment's not about you, Liska Chan.) Feel free to check out my blog, thatsanegative.com, and drop me an email of introduction at your convenience. Thanks, Chas
